To Be a Magpie - Make Money on Twitter

Chirp, chirp! For a while I ignored the buzz about Magpie on Twitter, but I started to become curious and decided to investigate further. Magpie is an Ad Network that allows Twitter users to make money with an occasional post to their account.

Signing up with Magpie is easy.  You enter the details of your Twitter account and select the ratio of advert/tweets.  Then sit back and let Magpie post the occasional ad until you've made enough money to receive a payment.

Magpie earnings can be used to either purchase your own ads, or you can receive a payment by PayPal when you reach €50 (currently $63 or £42).

Considering using Magpie doesn't require any extra effort on my part, I'm giving it a try for a couple of months.  I'll let you know how well I get on.  Have you had any experiences, good or bad, with Magpie?

  1. I have considered this off and on, but don't want to possible lose the followers. I will keep up at this blog to see how you are doing. If you are doing well enough, then I will consider joining up.

  2. Looks like an interesting opportunity - but this must be alright if you have lots of followers and but not for people like me who just joined twitter and with only a handful of followers.

I think my twitter account should be the last site I should see ads. :-) Thanks for dropping by at my blog.

  5. I've already unfollowed several people that have added Magpie. If you want to make money off of Twitter, there are much better ways.

I'm currently using ad.vu, which I've been pleased with. It is unobtrusive. I haven't tried twittad yet, but it looks okay as well.

You can read more of my thoughts on this at The Advertising Conversation on Twitter

  6. That's interesting! I should definitely have a look at this. I've really just started on Twitter so I'm new to a lot of this. Looks like Twitter is getting bigger every day. Thanks for the idea.
