The new designs on Retro Programming and Make Nothing Online both use the Simple Template. Retro Programming has a background image from the technology gallery while Make Nothing Online has an image from the abstract gallery. I also added a couple of custom CSS tweak for acronyms, abbreviations and code sections:
pre {margin: 1em;
padding: 8px;
border: 1px dashed #35de5c;
background: white;
}
acronym, abbr {border-bottom: 1px dashed silver;
cursor: help
}
Have you experimented with the new template designer yet? Let me know how you get on :-)

I think it's the best what Google could do, especially for new bloggers. I believe a lot of Wordpress members will change to Blogger in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see that Google automatically change the Adsense code so that it blends with the template. In my case it's little bit difficult as i have a transparent sidebar :)
I did not know that blogger added new templates but I won't be using them myself because I use a program called Artisteer that lets me make my own templates from scratch. Check out http://hatsbydavid.blogspot.com/ and you can see the template I built with Artisteer. I may have to set up a test blog on blogger so that I can play around with the new templates.
ReplyDeleteI think they're really quite good. I spent half the afternoon playing but haven't changed anything yet. I'd really like to use an image of my own as background, and I'm going to have to get a new header to do what I want.
ReplyDeleteI first see corny use the Blogger template designer..Let me have a try on my other blogs.
