Here's the tweak:
Please try the <a
expr:href='"https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?" +
"blogID=BLOG ID&postID=" +
data:post.id + "&isPopup=false"'>alternative
comment form</a> if you're having trouble commenting.
The tweak can be installed as follows:
- go to Layout then Edit HTML,
- expand Widget Templates,
- make a backup of your template just in case,
- search for
<data:blogCommentMessage/>, - paste the code for the tweak after
<data:blogCommentMessage/>, - replace
BLOG IDwith the number at the end of the URL, - Finally save the template and double check it works as expected.
If you'd like to see the tweak in action, please take a look at my daily photo gallery. :-)
oh! I'm glad you've done a post about it as i wanted to advertise it on my blog. I've rolled it out on one blog so far and will roll out on the rest when I get more than 5 one-minutes intervals tied together. Been ludicrously busy lately! Would be sinking if I hadn't done a whole lot of posts on my Isle of Wight trip while still on holiday.
ReplyDeleteI've been searching for where you had hidden the explanation! Thanks to Emm for the link. I've had for the first time someone complain that she can't use embedded comments - anywhere apparently. So I'll give this a whirl and hope it fixes the problem. She said the pop-up comments works for her but I really do dislike those pop-up boxes, with a passion.
ReplyDeleteYay!! It works especially well when you replace the correct BLOG ID and not blogID, I found, but that's a mere technicality. :) Many thanks John.
